Grammar: proper nouns, abbreviations LA Story: What Makes the Earth Shake Writing: Informative writing Spelling skills: silent letters /n/ and /r/ sounds, -er, and -est (comparative and superlative) Spelling will begin thr week of 1/5.
*Spelling - If your child's spelling pad does not come home, they have comepleted the spelling assignment in clas. If they spelling pad is taken home, please review for correctness and completion.
* Please encourage your child to read for our in class Quiet Time Reading Game. Each completed book and "book report" is worth a star, and the student with the most stars after the trimester will earn a reward!

Grammar: Possessive nouns and pronouns review, contractions LA Story: A Saguaro's Story (no test, project-based assessment) Writing: Prewrite, edit, and revise informative writing. Spelling skills: suffixes (-ful. -less, -ity, and -able) Quiz on Thursday, 12/18.
*Spelling - If your child comes home with their spelling sheet, they are to complete unfinished sentences and/or make corrections on sentences they have already written. If your child does not come home with their spelling sheet, their sentences have been corrected and completed in class.
